Value Engineering (VE) | Program | A systematic, orderly approach to defining a facility's required function, verifying the need for the function, and creating alternatives for providing the function at minimum life-cycle cost. Value is the lowest life-cycle cost to achieve the required function. VE is a problem-solving system that emphasizes the reduction of cost while maintaining the required quality and performance of the facility. It is a technique that is applied in addition to the regular design process. It is required on all major projects. |

VE participation and implementation | Program | The extra fee to be paid to the A/E for participation in the required value engineering study and includes incremental costs to implement those changes identified by the study and requested by the owner. |

Vendor notification | Program | Washington Electronic Business Solutions (WEBS) allows for vendors to register and be notified for bid opportunities by registering the commodity codes that best match the goods and services they provide. The system allows agencies and other political subdivisionsto post solicitations and also allow search within the system for vendor contact information. The system also notifies vendors of apparent successful bidder. |

View (business process) | Workday | Cross Application | Viewing a business process means seeing its status and reporting on it. This is a securable item in a business process security policy. |
View (permission) | Workday | Cross Application | View is the ability to see objects or data through the Workday user interface, when permitted in a domain security policy. |
Washington Workforce Analytics (WWA) | Program | A component of OFM's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) used for supporting HR & Payroll business intelligence & data analytics. The current user interface (web front-end) for WWA is the SAP Business Objects WEBI tool. |

Work Schedule Calendar | Workday | Time Tracking | In Time Tracking, you have the option of defining standard work patterns for workers, such as Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work schedule calendars are used for a variety of purposes throughout Time Tracking. |
Work Week | Workday | Time Tracking | A seven-day period defined by a worker's start day of week and day breaker. By default, begins on Sunday at midnight and ends on the following Saturday at 11:59 PM; however, this can be configured for a group of workers through the use of work schedule calendars. Used for time entry and time calculations. |
Workday Payroll Interface | Workday | Integration | A suite of tools, or connector, that provides a framework for building an integration to a third-party payroll provider. |
Workday Reference Database (WRD) | Workday | A server hosting data tables containing foundation data model and supplier information. Very similar to the current Outbound Interface Server with AFRS vendor and chart of account information. |

Workday Studio | Workday | Integration | An Eclipse-based development environment that allows you to build more complex integrations with Workday. |
Workday Web Services | Workday | Integration | Workday’s public API. Based on open standards, Workday Web Services (WWS) provide the core method for integration with Workday. |
Worker | Workday | Human Capital Management (HCM) | A person who is either an employee hired by a company or a contingent worker contracted by a company. |
Worker Eligibility | Workday | Payroll | Used to identify whether, for whom, and what conditions to resolve an earning or deduction. On the Criteria tab of Create Earning and Create Deduction. |
Worker Tax Elections | Workday | Payroll | A worker's marital status, number of elections, exemption status, and other information, as specified through the Add Worker Tax Elections task. |
Worker Type | Workday | Human Capital Management (HCM) | Employee or Contingent Worker. There can also be several user-defined types of contingent workers. Compensation, benefits, and staffing events are tied to the worker type. |
Workfeed | Workday | Cross Application | Workday provides a special Workfeed worklet modeled on the idea of an activity stream (like activity streams in Facebook and Twitter and many other modern applications). The Workfeed presents an actionable view of content items of interest to you, arranged chronologically. This enables you to see and act on pertinent tasks and content items, from a combination of sources, all presented in a simple time-line view. The Workfeed should be configured as a required worklet on the My Workday 2.0 landing page. |
Workflow | Workday | Cross Application | Workflow defines who can perfrom each task in a business process and provides a routing mechanism to move the task from one user to another |
Workflow | Program | A workflow is approval routing for a process. When there is an approval needed, the system will send it to the appropriate assigned person to approve before moving onto the next step. |

Worklet | Workday | Cross Application | A compact report displayed as a "tile" on the My Workday page, providing easy access to tasks and information you use on a regular basis. Examples are My Leadership Roles, Open Positions, Anniversaries, and so on. |
Worktag | Workday | Cross Application | A named attribute that you can assign to events and objects to indicate their business purpose. For example, you can create a Customer worktag, whose values are the names of your customers. You can use the worktag to assign a customer to an expense in an expense report or a product sales event. |
